Essential Firefox Extension for Learning Japanese

If you’re a beginner like me and you want to immerse yourself in Japanese internet, you’re going to need this Firefox Extension.

It’s called rikaichan.

Rikaichan is a Japanese to English/German/French/Russian dictionary.  Just hover your mouse on top of a word, and a popup appears.  Rikaichan automatically de-inflects verbs and adjectives.  Detailed kanji view.

All you do is hover over a word (or specific Kanji) and it tells you the Kana then the definition!

It’s honestly essential to using Japanese related websites.  I love it!

Here is the download link : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2471/

Firefox makes it incredibly simple and easy to install plugins.  You should have no problem!

Note: after you install the extension, you're not done just yet!  A page will pop up after you restart Firefox giving you further instructions.  Don't exit like I did!!! ;)

Here are some websites you probably use every day that have a Japanese version:

Google

Yahoo!

Twitter (change your Twitter language to Japanese)

Facebook

I hope this extension helped you!  If it did, please subscribe to our RSS feed and/or bookmark us for later.  Thanks for reading!
